Thanksgiving

It was great. We drove to Pennsylvania to spend time with 2 of Adrian's brothers' families and his mom. We rented a cabin and stayed 4 nights and had tons of fun playing board games, watching movies, playing pool and shuffleboard, having a family talent/variety show, lounging around in pajamas and stuffing our faces with all the yummy Thanksgiving food and treats we all brought.

There were a few issues mainly dealing with the location (we were told it had 4 bedrooms when in fact it had only 3, we killed approximately 20 wasps, most of which were in the bedrooms (only one sting--sorry Lizzie!), and tons of hunters on the property each day preventing the kids from roaming around outside like we had hoped to allow them to do, etc). Fortunately, though, compensation is being made by the owners and we were still able to enjoy our time together.

I didn't get many pictures, and I did have a terrible cold most of the time (many of us did) but here is proof of our get-together.

Cousins!

Part of the variety show. Peter was singing some silly song he made up, and Claire was helping.

Claire sang "the wheels on the bus"

And Clark sang "I'm Trying to be like Jesus"

I had to post a picture of this, because I'm pretty sure Clark asked Grandma to play this game with him close to 50 times. He practically followed her around and wanted to be doing what she was doing. It was sweet, and Grandma was so wonderful to him and all of the kids.

We had a great time, but are still trying to get back in the swing of things (at least we've finally unpacked!). Now we're getting ready to pack up everything again and head to AZ for Christmas. Hopefully we will have as good of a time...with less wasps and NO sickies!

  1. Looks like fun! We had lots of family togetherness at our own little house. It sure was cozy.
