There's humor in this somewhere...

We woke up this morning to marker on:

the closet door
the fan
the desk/table
the ferry boat
the garage
the rocking chair
the window

the bunk bed ladder
the sheets

the car rug
and of course here.
And this is just most of the things written on. Of course, the marker is not a washable one and it does not want to come completely off of anything (that isn't plastic)...not even with a magic eraser.

What am I going to do with this kid?

  3. oh peter. that boy is in to EVERYTHING! rubbing alcohol does a lot to get marker out, even sharpie. or if you can throw it in the washer, try "carbona" little yellow bottles made specifically for marker, grease, etc. you can find it at hancock, probably joannes, and maybe walmart. good luck. good luck.

  4. Good for you for taking pictures. Somehow that always seems to help me laugh at it....later. Much later.

  6. Ah, yes. Reminds me of the time I found out that Katie had taken scissors to her Pottery Barn pillowcase. We have very few nice things - but I'll be darned if they don't all get ruined. Derek says, "Your dad's advice to me when we got married has turned out to be prophetic." What advice was that, you ask? "Any nice thing that you own or will own will be destroyed by your wife or your children." You are right - there is humor in it somewhere...

  7. Ha ha Jodie. That's really really really funny. Not even the Magic Eraser will get it out, eh? Bummer! So here's a thought...perhaps you could have a room that was free-4-all to mess with. Kids have a way of not seeing or caring about writing that's all over stuff. They just don't see it like we do. Okay...so perhaps that was a bad thought. But hey! Kids hit that age Peter is in and write on everything. My nephew (same age) wrote in ball point pen all over my parents' leather furniture. Oh...and then they tried permanent pen too. Yikes!

  8. You could make a book: Peter and the Purple Marker :)
I suppose at some future point we will miss these days...
