Clark's birthday

We had a lot of fun for Clark's birthday this year. We didn't get him many gifts because we wanted to try to make his day special and memorable.

Thursday we went to the zoo. A while ago I had told Clark that on his birthday he could ride the carousel and he reminded me so we went. We also visited the splash pad and since we went in the 2 hours between two pretty big rain storms, we got the whole place to ourselves! It was a blast and the boys LOVED every second of it (no pictures).

Then on Friday we "woke" him up to breakfast in bed. I say "woke" of course because he gets up way too early and although we had even set our alarm a little earlier than usual, he still beat us up. So we had Clark and Peter play in their room until breakfast was ready.

We then had a "special birthday lunch" at McDonald's (yes, he wore his birthday crown all day!)

After lunch we picked up Adrian and went to Art Sparks (which is a hands-on children's area in the art museum...sort of like a science center only with art). We, again, were the only ones there which made it so much more fun!

After Art Sparks we came home and Clark got to play with his stuff. We bought him a kid-size hammer and Adrian made this bird feeder kit for he and Clark to hammer together. Clark was so excited.

After dinner, we set up our tent in the family room. We ate Smores, watched CARS, and the boys got to sleep in it.

Right before Clark fell asleep he turned to me and asked "Mom, is today over?" Which I replied it was. He then said "It was a great day". Yes it was, Clark. Yes it was. Happy birthday, Big Guy.
