Landscaping

Last week Adrian was home for a few days so one day was devoted to landscaping. We wanted to add some bushes to the side of our house and fence for a little privacy and a little more "curb appeal".

This was the only "before" I could find (I took this when we first moved in)

These are some of the "during" pictures. We dug a trench for the landscape timbers, nailed them in (stair-stepping them since the ground isn't flat), removed the top few inches of grass and soil, covered with landscaping fabric, dug holes and planted 5 bushes, and mulched. This may not sound like a lot, but it was. We began early in the morning and the last bush that we planted and mulched around was done in the dark at 9:15 that night.

We were outside the entire day and had a really good time together.
Adrian did most of the work but I did do my share, don't worry.
The little lady liked to help as well. (Look at that little belly! Isn't she darling?)

We will eventually plant about 5 more bushes but this was all we had at the time so we at least finished what we had hoped to.

And here's another picture of our tulips in full bloom. Love them!

  1. We haven't really finished any of the landscaping projects we've started since we bought our house. It is a lot of work. Your project looks like it turned out great!
